Today we’re reviewing the Yumi EPICmod, a disposable vape with an impressive 5,500 puff capacity and 10 succulent flavors. Let’s get started the YUMI EPICMOD Review then!
We were fortunate enough to review the Yumi Wisebar back in March and were blown away by the exceptional flavors that Yumi have to offer. On top of this, the Wisebar had excellent build quality and a great battery life to boot.
The EPICmod looks set to offer the same in terms of build quality, delicious flavor profiles and exceptional battery life. As Yumi’s biggest disposable, the EPICmod features a 650 mAh rechargeable battery and a whopping 14ml of e-juice!
We’ve been on a mission at VapingHardware to find the best disposable vapes and this compact disposable looks set to take a top spot on the list!

What’s in the Box?
The EPICmod comes packaged in a small color coded cardboard box that matches the flavor of the disposable inside. On the sides of the box you’ll find all the typical warning statements as well as an expiration date for the vape inside.
On the front there’s an image of the EPICmod disposable along with the puff and e-liquid capacity of the EPICmod and the size of the battery inside. On the back there’s a brief list of the ingredients as well as some information about the nicotine strength of the disposable you’ve purchased.
Once you open the box you’ll find the EPICmod contained inside a foil wrapper. Simply take out your disposable, remove the silicone cap on the mouthpiece and the sticker covering the charge port/air hole and you’re good to go!
The only information I’d have liked to see is the PG/VG ratio listed on the box, certainly handy for those suffering with PG intolerance.
Design and Appearance
The first thing that jumps out at you when you open up the box is the brilliantly tiny size. Considering the EPICmod is designed as a rechargeable, multi-day device, the compact size is incredible!
Measuring a mere 66mm (H) X 42mm (W) X 19mm (D), it sits easily in the palm of the hand. With about the same proportions as a zippo lighter (only slightly thicker), it slots in a pocket with room to spare. In fact, when I tested the EPICmod disposables over a number of weeks, I frequently carried around two or three at the same time.
It’s certainly much smaller than other rechargeable disposables like the Voltbar we recently reviewed.
As well as the slight size, the surprisingly light XXg weight means you barely even notice you’re holding the thing!
Like I said at the start, the EPICmod holds a staggering 14ml of e-juice, one of the highest capacities available in a disposable vape. The fact Yumi also managed to squeeze in a 650 mAh battery along with this amount of juice, really is a testament to their design team.
And for those of you worried that the slight size and light weight results in a cheap, badly made product, rest assured the EPICmod is anything but. With a smooth silicone body and shiny plastic top it feels solid and comfortable to hold. Each of the four vertical corners also have tapered edges that give it an even more premium vibe.
It certainly feels robust and well made. While I was lucky enough not to seriously drop any during my time testing, it feels well built enough to withstand a serious drop.
As an auto-draw device there are no buttons on the EPICmod, you simply draw on the mouthpiece to activate the coil. I found the auto-draw worked flawlessly and was super responsive across all 10 of the EPICmods I tested.
In terms of the aesthetics, I think Yumi also performed really well. The silicone section of the body is gradient colored to reflect the flavor inside the device. It’s both vibrant enough to look interesting but not so flashy that it draws attention.
It’s the kind of design that makes the EPICmod look just as at home with the middle aged businessman as it would with the twenty-something party-goer. Whether it’s sitting on a desk in the middle of a meeting or propped on the bar while you order a drink, it seems to fit in.
The branding is discreet with only a small Yumi logo, the EPICmod name and the flavor printed on a plastic rectangle, inset vertically into the body on the front of the device.
The mouthpiece is integrated with the top plastic section of the disposable and has an oval shape that really suits a mouth-to-lung (MTL) inhale. Because the non-adjustable airflow is quite open, it’s a nice smooth draw. Despite having a reasonably open airflow it’s still not really comfortable using the EPICmod as a restricted direct-to-lung (DTL) device.
The USB Type-C charging port (0.5A) is located on one side of the device with the small LED puff indicator sitting just above the opening. The USB charge port also functions as the airflow hole when drawing on the disposable.
For me this was one of the only minor drawbacks I found with the design of the EPICmod.
On several occasions my hand completely blocked the airflow when trying to take a puff. It’s a pity that the design didn’t allow for the charging port/airflow hole to be placed on the bottom of the device. That being said, with the charge port located on the side the EPICmod stays upright while charging.
Another disadvantage with this design is the lack of pass-through vaping. Because the airflow hole uses the charge port, when the EPICmod is on charge you can’t vape the device.
However, these minor drawbacks pail in comparison to the positives on offer. Overall I was really impressed with the design of the Yumi EPICmod. It’s small, stylish and designed with the every day vaper in mind. Easy for taking with you on the go and built to withstand the trials of daily life. There’s even a lanyard loop on the top corner for the really active vapers amongst you (lanyard not included!).
Performance
When it comes to the performance of the Yumi EPICmod things get even better. The stand-out feature for me was the sheer longevity of this device. True to the label, the EPICmod provides approximately 5,500 puffs!
As a heavy vaper, I’m puffing continuously throughout the day with my vape rarely leaving my hand. Despite this, the EPICmod lasted me an incredible 8 days!
The only caveat to this impressive number is that the EPICmods we received were the 50/mg nicotine strength and slightly higher than I’m used to. I’m sure if I received the 20/mg strength version I’d have puffed on them a little more frequently.
Still, the fact this incredibly cheap and compact disposable provides over a week of vaping time is really impressive! As well as this, the internal 650 mAh rechargeable battery performed really well. In total the EPICmod carries enough e-juice to provide vaping for 4 full charge cycles of the battery.
If you’re good with numbers you’ll have already worked out that the EPICmod battery lasts for a full 2 days of vaping before it needs a recharge. When the device is out of battery the LED puff indicator flashes 10 times in quick succession.
Then you simply plug the EPICmod in using a USB Type-C cable and you’re good to go. The LED indicator will stay lit for the duration of charging and goes out completely when the battery has reached full capacity. When you then unplug the device the LED indicator flashes five times to indicate a full charge. All in all a recharge takes a little over 50 minutes.
In terms of vapor production the EPICmod again performed brilliantly. At full charge the vapor clouds are thick and foggy and much closer to the vapor you’d expect from a traditional tank setup. Even at a lower charge, the EPICmod provides dense satisfying clouds.
As well as the great vapor production, it provides a really satisfying throat kick and excellent nicotine delivery. Like I mentioned before, I tried the 50/mg nicotine strength and the delivery was excellent (sometimes a little too good….dizziness first thing in the mornings became a regular occurrence!)
Finally I was also incredibly impressed with the airflow and draw on the EPICmod. It’s designed as a MTL vape meaning you draw the vapor into your mouth before drawing it down into your lungs. It’s a nice open airflow so you don’t have to draw too hard on the mouthpiece to achieve a really satisfying puff.
The draw response is also really sensitive and never failed across all 10 of the EPICmod disposables I personally tested.
It’s also worth noting that I never experienced e-juice entering the mouth on a draw. In fact, the only time I saw e-juice leave the EPICmod was through the mouthpiece after being carried upside down for a good length of time. Even then, the amount of e-juice was minimal.
My only slight gripe with the performance of the EPICmod was the taste delivered in the final half day of vaping. As the e-juice starts to run dry you get a slight dry cottony taste coming through. With that being said, I’ve experienced the exact same thing in all the other rechargeable disposables I’ve tried.
All in all though, the super impressive battery life and e-juice capacity make this an incredibly convenient disposable. The vapor production is far greater than the majority of disposables I’ve tried and the taste delivered by the mesh coil is also incredible. Add to this the ease-of-use and excellent draw response and the Yumi EPICmod is up there with the best!
Flavors
One of the best things about the EPICmod is hands down the flavors. While taste and flavor are subjective, Yumi really have hit the nail on the head! When I test and review disposables there’s always at least one flavor in the range that doesn’t quite hit right.
But with Yumi every flavor seems to hit home. There are 10 flavors in total and they’re currently working on adding more to the range. In no particular order they currently offer:
- Watermelon
- Sour Apple
- Cola
- Grape
- Energy Drink
- Blueberry
- Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava
- Blue Razz Lemonade
- Pink Lemonade
- Strawberry Kiwi
We were lucky enough to be sent the entire range in 50mg nicotine strength. I’ll share my thoughts on each flavor below and try my best to describe the taste.
Watermelon
Like biting in to a fresh slice of watermelon on a hot summer’s day, this flavor is exactly like you’d expect!
Full disclosure…watermelon is my favourite fruit and I may be slightly biased. Nevertheless, it’s an excellent flavor with a gentle taste on the inhale and a sweet tangy explosion on the exhale.
Easily one of the best flavors I’ve come across in a disposable vape and a sure all-day vape! This was one I just couldn’t put down and definitely a flavor I’ll be buying again soon.
Cola
This flavor was again perfectly spot on!
A nice subtle cola taste during the initial draw followed by a powerful fizz that hits the back of the throat just right.
It really reminded me of the cola bottle sweets you’d find in a candy shop.
A perfect balance between sweet and tart, this was another personal favourite of mine and one I’d happily vape all day.
Sour Apple
While I’m not usually the biggest fan of apple flavors, Yumi’s version surprised me.
There’s a delicious sweetness on the inhale that seems to keep building the longer you draw in. On the exhale the sour tones really kick in making this a tangy, flavorful vape.
Again I was also surprised that I didn’t tire of this flavor. While it wouldn’t be my first choice for an all day vape, it certainly packs enough of a punch (without being overpowering) to satisfy for a good period of time.
Strawberry Kiwi
This was definitely one of the more subtle flavors in the EPICmod range.
While it didn’t burst with as much flavor as some of the others on this list, it really is a refreshing vape and perfect for those who love their fruity flavors.
It’s got a great blend between the strawberry and kiwi with the former being more prominent.
It’s by no means my favourite on the list, but yet again a flavor I’d happily vape all day.
Blue Razz Lemonade
Even the smell of this flavor sets my mouth watering!
The fizz is much more gentle than Yumi’s other fizzy flavors but this makes more room for the blueberry and raspberry flavors to burst through.
Like drinking a blue slushie it’s packed full of flavor and keeps you wanting more!
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the Blue Razz Lemonade is another flavor I’ll be picking up again soon.
Energy Drink
Hard to discern the individual flavors in this one but it’s brilliantly delicious and tastes just like everyone’s favourite energy drink (the one that gives you wings!). Packed full of flavor and a nice bubbly fizz on the inhale.
Again I’m not usually a big fan of the energy drink flavors but this was another pleasant surprise.
It’s not one of my favourite flavors in the range but it’s certainly the nicest energy flavor I’ve vaped on and one I’d happily have again.
Pink Lemonade
For me the Pink Lemonade was a bit of a curve ball. It’s another great flavor but it wasn’t at all what I expected. It’s quite a floral flavor and the fizz is much more subtle than the Blue Razz Lemonade. There’s also a very slight hint of a medicinal taste to me. It reminded me of the kind of old school homemade lemonade you’d buy at a stand.
I could definitely pick out the lemonade flavor but it’s mixed with a fruity, floral taste that’s much harder to pin down. While still a really delicious flavor I expected to like it more based on the name.
Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava
This particular one absolutely bursts with flavor! The passion fruit is the predominant taste but there are undertones of the kiwi and guava fruits that set the taste buds tingling.
On my first inhale I was strongly reminded of the ‘Pornstar Martini’ cocktail. It’s got a really refreshing taste and gives off seriously strong vacation vibes!
Packed full of mouth watering fruity flavors, I couldn’t put this one down.
Blueberry
Another one of my personal favourites, the blueberry is hands down one of the best I’ve ever tried!
It treads the line perfectly between sweet and sour and there’s a very slight hint of menthol that gives the flavor a nice refreshing feel.
A nice lip-smacking fruity flavor, the Blueberry EPICmod was easily another all day vape for me and another one I’ll be adding to the basket soon!
Grape
Last but no means least, the Grape flavor is another strong entry in the EPICmod flavor range.
It’s quite a sweet grape… more like candy grapes than a fresh fruit flavor.
Definitely perfect for those with a sweet tooth but not as refreshing as some of the other fruity flavors in this range.
I also found this flavor lingers in the mouth for slightly longer than several others, possibly indicating the addition of a sweetener in the juice.
Overall I was really impressed with the flavors of the Yumi EPICmod. My personal favourites were Watermelon, Cola and Blue Razz Lemonade and I’ll definitely be buying some more of these in the near future.
Like I mentioned earlier, the biggest surprise was that there weren’t any flavors I didn’t enjoy. Of course there were a couple that I wouldn’t rush out to go and buy, but all 10 of the EPICmod flavors were enjoyable and great to vape. Several in particular were some of the best I’ve tried!
Verdict
Having been lucky enough to try the entire range of the Yumi EPICmods, I can assuredly say they’re one of the best, if not the number one disposable I’ve had the pleasure of using!
The vapor production, flavors and throat hit are fantastic and I was blown away by the compact size and incredible lifespan on this insanely cheap disposable.
While not as friendly on your wallet as a traditional pod or mod/tank setup, the EPICmod is brilliantly convenient and satisfying to use.

As if you really needed any more reason to fall in love with the Yumi EPICmod, the price tag is an absolute bargain. Priced on Healthcabin at $5.64, the EPICmod is one of the cheapest rechargeable disposables we’ve come across.
Considering you’ll pay at least $6 for a 600 puff disposable, the Yumi EPICmod is priced at just over double this while offering almost 10 times the amount of vaping time!
Even if you compare the cost of the EPICmod to a more traditional mod and tank setup….the e-juice you’d burn through in eight days won’t be all that much cheaper than the $5.64 you’d pay for an EPICmod. This makes it one of the cheaper and more convenient ways to vape.
