Let’s start with the first impressions – I wouldn’t say it’s pretty, but it’s very lightweight, I wouldn’t say it’s particularly compact, but it’s quite ergonomic, but what’s for sure is that it’s high-quality (at first glance). So, lost vape released their m200, which blew up the Southeast Asian market, and competitors decided to keep up. This is probably how our hero appeared. Overall, it’s well-made, but I didn’t like the design at all – if I hadn’t seen the nameplate on the case, I would never have believed that it was a Vaporesso creation. Of course, this is my personal opinion, but this rounded display and “half-empty” control panel are boring.
We’ll call the dimensions average – our hero has nothing to brag about here. But the weight is still great – all this is due to the use of aluminum as the main material of the case. The ergonomics for a two-can device are normal – adequate. Nothing cuts the palm, everything is in its place, but I would not call the ergonomics ideal. Fine knurling on the case adds confidence to the grip, but it also collects debris masterfully.
We study the landing pad and immediately “trouble” – thanks to significant bevels on the edges, an aesthetic fit is provided only to atomizers with a diameter of 21 mm. If this seems strange to you, then the maximum reserve of the upper pad is even “stranger” – it is 22.8 mm. The pad itself protrudes from the case very little – there will be no microlevitation, however, as well as scratches.
The control panel is scattered around the case. The standard diagonal color display has found a home in the “porthole” on the side. Its brightness is average – adjustable, the desktop design is, to put it mildly, “youthful”. Naturally, it could not do without animation, of which three types are offered. On both sides of the screen there are small lightbars, three types of effects are also offered for them, but this option can be disabled.
The start button is quite large and protrudes from the body decently. The press is of medium-light elasticity, the click is distinct (not ringing), the stroke is also average – in principle, it is comfortable to use in this regard. The setup and control keys have been replaced by the rotation of the same button – and here I do not like two things at once. Firstly, the entire (!) button rotates, and not like it was in Lost Vape – only the rim around it – we spied on it, but, apparently, not completely. The problem is that it often rotates when you hold your finger on the flare and shift or “twist” the mod. Secondly, it is the rotation mechanism that looks, in my humble opinion, extremely unreliable – it certainly does not inspire confidence. I predict: the button is the weakest point in the box mod, or to be more precise, this rotation mechanism.
The quick lock slider is a handy thing – it locks all the buttons of the device at once. Just below is a modern-style charging port – the promised 2 A is not here.
Access to the battery compartment opens after removing the side panel – there is a recess for convenience. A small gap is observed, but it is not at all critical. Inside there is a ribbon for comfortable extraction of batteries, but in fact it helps only with one battery. The contacts are too spring-loaded, and although their edges do not seem to be particularly sharp, they mercilessly spoil the braiding of the batteries.
It remains to talk about the control chipset. Its functionality is quite extensive, but the lion’s share of modes are variations of variable wattage, and temperature control was not brought in at all. However, from all this “ugliness / diversity” I personally continue to be pleased with the F(t) mode – it is somehow magically pleasant. Otherwise, everything is standard – a puff counter, uninformative battery charge indicators, although they are separate, and the animation is frankly “infuriating” – it cannot be switched off.
In operation, I did not notice any sins with the chipset – it starts up averagely fast, it uses the charge adequately, it reads the resistance quite correctly. In general, it is a normal, adequate mid-range device.
Impressions
The hero did not make a special impression on me – in my particular case, it seems to me, it all started with the inexpressive design. Well, if we abstract ourselves, then this is a completely normal budget device, “with its own jokes”, the most significant of which is the strange landing of the atomizers. In principle, you can buy it, but the price tag for it, in my opinion, is too high. Most, if not all users, will give preference to its direct competitor – the same Drag 5th revision – besides, it is also cheaperā¦
Advantages
- Still the price (without comparison with competitors)
- Relatively compact dimensions
- Low weight
- Ergonomics
- Quality of execution and materials
- Adequate operation of the control chipset
Disadvantages
- The actual charging current does not correspond to the declared one
- Features of the atomizer seating
- The contact group spoils the battery braid
