Uwell. You’ve heard plenty about these guys before. Well they’ve been pumping gear out lately at quite a rate, beginning with their latest upgrades to the Caliburn with their Caliburn A2 and their Caliburn Koko AK2.
These guys have some really successful products out in the market, but one product line you may not have heard much about. The Aeglos. The first Aeglos Pod device I took a look at quite a while ago, was on the simpler side, and being more of a Pod device in the same vein as Voopoo’s original Vinci series. The new version of the Aeglos is out and it’s a lot more than a simple pod device, this time around!
Let’s take a look at the Uwell Aeglos P1 Pod Mod!
Big thanks goes to Health Cabin for sending this directly through to me for review!

The Uwell Aeglos P1 is quite a surprise in more ways than one, Uwell have thrown in a little innovation as well as some tried and true characteristics to make this quite an interesting device. Even though this looks like it would have an internal battery, the Aeglos P1 is actually an 18650 device. Combine that with a maximum wattage of 80 Watts, a 4ml Pod e-liquid capacity, 0.96″ TFT Color Display Screen and a lightweight and comfortable body shape, you’re looking at quite the competitor to existing Pod Mods on the market.
The Body
The Aeglos P1 has an aluminium alloy chassis to help keep it lightweight, and measures in at about 122mm by 34mm by 29mm, which is quite a bit smaller than many pod mods already on the market. It’s basically tubular in shape, but what makes this stand out from the crowd is it’s C-Frame design and removeable battery. It threw me for a minute and I couldn’t figure out exactly how to remove the back battery section, but simply pulling it away works, as it is held in place by the general shape of the actual heel, and the rounder shape of the mod. It also has magnets helping it stay in place that give a nice snap sound when putting the battery door back on.
Up top, you’ve got a typical Pod recess, not like any Uwell product I’ve seen before. It’s actually more akin to something that Voopoo might put out, due to it’s round base connector, so that you can spin the Pod in any direction you like and it’ll still make contact. Just below your pod recess are cutouts for your adjustable airflow. How this works is the two tabs on either side of the Pod simply cover those cyclops style airports. Spin the pod to adjust.
The front face of the mod is laid out in a pretty generic way, just like many devices on the market, larger fire button up top, colour screen below, with two adjustment buttons underneath that, and a USB Type C charge port at the bottom.
The POD
om, where you’ll also find a silicone cover that reveals a fill port at the base.
How these pods differ however, is with their two fins at the base. These additional pieces of plastic that are moulded to the Pod act as airflow blocks, these block the airflow to whatever level you’d like when spinning the Pod around in the actual device.
The Aeglos P1 comes with 2x coils in the pack too, and it will set the wattage for your coil when you insert the pod (40W for the 0.2Ω coil and 20W for the 0.6Ω coil). It will also limit you to 30W when using the 0.6Ω coil so that you don’t accidentally burn it.
- 1 x UN2 Meshed-H 0.2Ω Coil
This coil is your DTL coil, better for direct to lung hits and higher wattage. Best wattage for this is 45-52 Watts, although I’ve found that it does best at around 40 Watts. - 1 x UN2 Meshed-H 0.6Ω Coil
This coil is better suited to those who prefer a really restricted DTL vape or an open MTL vape. It’s rated for between 23 and 27 watts. That’s pretty much bang on for what I’ve experienced.
Airflow
As I’ve mentioned earlier, Uwell have introduced a unique airflow adjustment on the Aeglos P1, simply spin the Pod around and the airflow will adjust. This happens due to the two fins provided at the base of the Pod which close off sections of the airflow vents on the side of the device as you spin it around.
The airflow is quite generous and you’ll get a nice open direct to lung vape with the airflow wide open, don’t get too excited about the Mouth to lung airflow levels though, you’ll get a restricted DTL or really open MTL at best on this one even with the airflow completely closed.
Filling
Filling is too easy. As with many other devices, flip the pod over, unplug the silicone plug and fill. Nothing more to it.
Battery
Uwell have done a great job with the C-Frame of the Aeglos P1. To be honest I initially thought it had an internal battery until I felt the heel come loose a little revealing the 18650 battery bay. The design hides it well and using an exclusively magnetic fitting makes for quality battery door.
Batteries fit snug in the bay due to the spring loaded battery connector at the top, and the door holds firm even when treating the device roughly. Just in case you get caught out with a flat battery when out, the Aeglos P1 also comes with a USB Type C port on the front face, so you can charge in an emergency, but I wouldn’t recommend it outside of that situation. We should be using external battery chargers for 18650 batteries anyway.
Any Leaks?
Yes, unfortunately. Many devices suffer from over saturation of coils when left sitting for a while and the Aeglos P1 is no different. I switched over to use something else for a day or two leaving the Aeglos in situe for the duration. Came back to a bunch of eliquid under the Pod (not a small amount) and sticky hands when I picked it up.
Usage & Features
Because the Aeglos P1 is primarily a wattage only device, there isn’t a lot to operating it. It does have a locking mechanism and even better includes wattage lock too.
- Power on or off: Press the fire button 5 times..
- Clear puff counter: Hold both adjustment buttons together.
- Lock device (including fire button): Hold the – adjustment button and fire button.
- Lock adjustment buttons only: Hold the + adjustment button and fire button.
- Factory reset: Hold the fire button and both adjustment buttons.
Pros
- Comfortable and lightweight
- Excellent flavour from coils
- Great airflow adjustment
- Excellent battery bay and C-Frame design
- Takes external 18650 batteries
Cons
- Leakage when left sitting
- Airflow will not tighten down for a good MTL vape
Conclusion
I’ve had a bit of a love/hate relationship with this device during my testing. While I commend Uwell on some of the more thoughtful features like the excellent C-Frame design, and the airflow flaps on the Pod, I can’t get past the fact that the coils accumulate so much juice after a while, which then leaks down under the Pod. I hate messy setups and this eventually becomes one. While I know this is just the result of having that airflow right through the centre of the coil, it’s something I feel should not even exist in this day and age of vaping and the advanced systems that are out these days.
Otherwise I’ve found the Aeglos P1 to be quite a sound device. It’s a great shape, lightweight, easy to use, has a lovely vibrant multi-coloured screen and intuitive interface.

Where to Buy
Because Health Cabin sent this through to me for review, I’ll give them a plug here. You can pick the Uwell Aeglos P1 kit up from Health Cabin for around the $45 AUD mark, which is a decent price for what you get. Not too expensive but not excessively cheap either. I’ve seen the Aeglos P1 for sale here in Australia from local vape stores for around the $50-$55 dollar price point, but not every shop sells them so you’ll need to look around.
