GEEKVAPE Soul AIO Review By Don

We continue the series with a device, courtesy of HealthCabin. Which is none other than the Geekvape Soul AIO POD. With this POD, you can use nicotine-salted liquid, or you can even stick with free-base nicotine, the atomizer in the POD heads works perfectly with both. In addition to aeration, we can also adjust the performance, but we can even reset the puff. Measuring 107.5 x 31.5 x 21.5mm, the Soul is small enough to fit almost anywhere. It was also equipped with a vacuum switch, but it can also be operated with the fire button in the same way. A 1500mAh battery was built into it, which, according to the manufacturer’s promise, provides enough power for up to 2 days.

It is available in 9 colors, which are black, gray, champagne, purple, white and pink, as well as violet, silver, blue and olive green with 2 patterns. The most beautiful one that arrived to me is the white one. It is much more beautiful and elegant in person than in the pictures, but I am sure that all colors make the same first impression. Let’s see what the Soul is like!

Contents of the box and getting to know the device

When we open the box, the first thing we see is another thinner box with the papers inside. An instruction manual, a card about the purchased product and another card about what not to do with the product! Once we have taken these out of the box, we can already see the elegance wrapped in aluminum alloy and white paint, accompanied by a 1 ohm POD head and a USB cable. The device comes with a 0.6 ohm POD head by default.

There is nothing else on the front except for the fire button and the 0.69″ OLED display. All values are clearly visible on the display, although they are a bit compressed, but it still shows everything that is important. The wattage, the ohm number, the currently delivered Volts and the puff number. Unfortunately, the values are not clearly visible in sunlight, but indoors, with artificial light, they are particularly bright, and the brightness is not disturbing.

On the right and left sides there is only the Geekvape inscription, except on the patterned versions, where the pattern takes the place of the inscription. The protective cap on the POD head has an inspection hole, with the help of which we can easily monitor the level of liquid in the 4ml POD head. The drip tip is plain plastic, which I personally dislike, because with the 0.6 ohm POD head it unfortunately tends to heat up.

The back is rounded, which is essential for an elegant and ergonomic design. It is extremely comfortable to hold and weighs almost nothing, only 76 grams. The burnt paint has a touch like a quality rubber coating. It is not slippery and does not stick to our hands in this heat.

The magnets inside the POD head cap adhere to a thin metal plate on top of the POD head, keeping the cap in place and protecting the POD head. The hole in the cap is reserved for the replaceable drip tip. Since this hole is the same size as the drip tip, it will not be easy to change the drip tip if the factory one does not fit.

The PCTG POD head is also attached to the device with magnets that are much stronger and larger than the magnets on the cap. Of course, in this case, we can only activate the atomizer by removing the sticker from the connector.

Each POD head features the ohm rating and recommended wattage range. Wattage can be adjusted between 5 and 30 watts using the fire button and one-button navigation with 3 quick fire button presses.

The ventilation is also located on the POD head, which consists of 4 holes. These can be adjusted according to your preference or need, or you can even close them completely, but they will still let in enough air to resemble the classic MTL line.

The air travels a relatively long way in the top-vented and therefore leak-free POD head, but this is not noticeable in the experience, as it does not travel a longer distance on the drip tip side, but before the air reaches the atomizer, so its use does not result in a loss of flavor. The VPU technology atomizer provides smooth flavors and a longer lifespan, although this is also highly liquid-dependent.

Now that we’ve taken a closer look at this beautiful Geekvape Soul POD, let’s take a look at what kind of experience it can provide us.

Experience report

I was immediately captivated by its exterior beauty. The painted part is not slippery, and it doesn’t stick to us if our hands are a little wetter. The lacquered aluminum surface near the display and fire button, on the other hand, is slightly slippery, but not significantly, and this part of the POD collects new fingerprints a little. The protective cap is easily removable, but the POD head is much more adherent. But this is not a disadvantage, as the magnets hold it in place so rock-solid that it doesn’t move even when tilted or dropped. The viewing window is very practical, but when the liquid level is very low before it runs out, it is not visible very well, as it will be in line with the lower edge of the viewing window. But at least we know from this that we will need to refill soon. The filling hole is quite large, so we can easily refill it from any bottle. The drip tip is made of smooth plastic, quite comfortable, but with the 0.6 POD head it unfortunately got hot around 25 Watts. A solution to this could be lower power, but that means that less air needs to be provided to the atomizer, which will be experienced differently than at 25 Watts or above. Neither the paint nor the lacquered aluminum surface is scratched, so the device can remain so beautiful and elegant for a very long time.

There is a USB-C port under the display through which we can charge the 1500mAh battery. The device itself charges with 1 amp, thanks to which the battery is fully charged within 1 hour. Considering my usage habits, the 2-day operating time promised by the manufacturer almost came true with the 1 ohm POD head! But it really only fell short of the manufacturer’s promised operating time by a few hours, which means about 21-22 hours (excluding the night). From this it follows that it will be there, just not if someone literally smokes it constantly, like me. The 0.6 ohm POD head can’t last 2 days by any means, but it more than makes up for 1 full day, which is about 14-15 hours. But I’ll also note that this could be more if it’s not literally in your mouth all the time. The device itself doesn’t get hot, it only gets lukewarm while charging, and by the way, you can also use it while it’s on the charger, but then the charging time is naturally extended.

We get a single fire button as navigation, which of course can also fire, so while we quickly press the fire button to jump to the Watt setting, it will puff three times on the atomizer, but fortunately there is no burnt taste as a result. If we press the fire button 2x quickly, the puff number will start flashing, and if we press a fire button, we will reset it. If you press the fire button 3 times quickly, the Watt value will start flashing, which you can increase by pressing the fire button until it goes from 30 to 5 Watts, and you can start setting the power again. If you press the fire button 4 times quickly, you will lock it. This way, it won’t be too tight in your bag or pocket, although this is not typical of the Soul. In this case, you can only use it with the vacuum switch, because it doesn’t even allow firing, which I don’t think is a bad thing.

As I mentioned, you can atomize with both the vacuum switch and the button, but the primary option for this type of device is always the vacuum switch. The heating is powerful, even if it is set to low Watts. Only 0.6 and 1 ohm POD heads are included in the package for the Soul, which of course also have a recommended Watt range. For the 0.6, it is 15-30 Watts, but when inserted, the device immediately adjusts the power to 25 Watts. The 1 ohm is recommended for 5-15 Watts, which the device sets to 15 Watts when inserted. I don’t really need to tinker with these, because atomization is ideal with these values. I used the 0.6 POD head with full air, while the 1 ohm was narrowed to 3 holes, which provided a perfect experience.

The atomizers of both POD heads taste about the same. It really brings the flavors softly, which means that not just any liquid is suitable for this, because it couldn’t fully convey the flavor of my vanilla liquid in the usual way. However, it sympathizes very well with more intense and complex flavors. It is outstanding in vapor, spectacular and can be said to be many, and with the 0.6 POD head you can even bite it. I think the 4ml POD head can run out pretty quickly with both resistors, of course it also depends on how much you use it and how many watts. I easily managed 3 x 4ml a day with the Soul.

Now let’s summarize in a few sentences what we just read.

Pros

  • Ergonomic, elegant design. I think many people buy based on their eyes when it comes to a device like an electronic cigarette that they already know how to use. And the Soul POD is exactly the kind of product that catches our eye immediately.
  • Easy to use. Although the one-button navigation does not replace the menu system, in my opinion, the few button combinations are absolutely memorable and fortunately the device leaves enough time for us not to have to rush with the settings, so essentially we have reached our destination with a few button presses as far as the Soul is concerned and this also makes it easy to use.
  • Automatic power adjustment. What in my opinion earned the User-Friendly special award is nothing more than the fact that it automatically adjusts the Watt value when it detects a change in resistance. This results in a perfectly beginner-friendly device, which is ideal for both new vapers and almost anyone looking for simplicity and beauty.
  • Large-capacity POD head. 4ml is quite a lot, but due to the intensity of the atomization, it is not enough for a whole day or even half a day, at least it was not for me, but nevertheless this is the ideal capacity so that you do not have to concentrate on when the Cartridge will run out.
  • Soft flavors, long life. The integrated atomizers made with VPU technology soften the flavor of the liquid, which gives us a truly pleasant experience. Although the vanilla liquid, which is a bit faint in taste, will not be viable in these POD heads, for example, the Soul POD can be a solution in the case of a liquid that is considered too intense. It conveys the flavors well overall, there will be perfect harmony, for example, in the case of an apple-cinnamon liquid, when cinnamon becomes dominant in certain devices. Well, with this device, no flavor dominates the other, but there will be the right balance of everything. The VPU technology also ensures long life, which means 1 week at the lowest level, but this can be extended to up to 2 weeks if, as I mentioned, we don’t use it literally non-stop. But otherwise, this can be said about any product.
  • Up to 2 days of battery life. It depends on the use and POD head how long the battery will last, but I think it is really capable of 2 days of battery life if we sometimes take a break between sips. By the way, it doesn’t drain when it is not in use, despite the hot summer days.
  • Short charging time. 1 hour is neither a lot nor a little, but it still doesn’t take that long to wait, so I don’t think we can call the Soul’s charging time long. Especially since we get up to 2 days of battery life in return.

Cons

  • Warm drip tip. The only thing I didn’t like about this device, but fortunately it only occurred with the 0.6 ohm POD head, which is a natural phenomenon with a sub ohm resistor and a plastic drip tip. The rest of the device didn’t get any heat at all, so it’s not terrible, but it was really annoying for me.

In conclusion, I think the Geekvape Soul AIO POD is a perfect choice for newbies or beginners. But I recommend it not only for beginners, but for anyone who likes easy to use, long-lasting delicious flavors, accompanied by abundant vapor. By the way, Geekvape has created it beautifully, so it can be a jewel in our collection.
