Roll up… Roll up
Hello my fellow vape Apes,
My review today is on the Wotofo Manik Pod Mod, very kindly sent to me from HealthCabin.
As always my review are my own views and are not the same as anyone at HealthCabin, wotofo or Potv. Nor am I paid for my thoughts.
This is the first product I have had from this company Wotofo and the first thing that strikes me is, wow they love branding and advertising, but let’s crack on with this Pod Mod.

First Thoughts out The Box
WOW.. I had to have a sit down and a sip of my beer after battling with the box for 25 minutes, maybe its just me but I lost patience after that and out come the knife to cut a slit in the side. So to put it simply it’s very well packaged.
Once its out and you’ve got it in your hand your notice the basketball type backing with the stitching either side of MANIK etched into the leather type cushion. In fact on every face of the mod you have some sort of writing in silver which against a black mod stands out quite alot.
It has a good weight to it with the battery inserted and feels good in the hand.
The Mod
I received my kit in the black and red. But it comes in 4 different colour options…
The usual 5 clicks on, 5 clicks of. When turning on you’re welcomed by the wotofo logo in green then to the main screen of the device. You have the usual, voltage, OHMS, wattage, Puffs, your battery bar which uses a number percentage, a pro in my books and also the biggest seconds puffed counter ive seen on a screen (its bigger than then the wattage)
3 clicks of the power button, locks the power meaning you cant fire the device, change wattage etc which is handy if you leave it in your bag or pocket as it will stop the device from firing and burning out coils or wasting eliquid.
The Power and down button clears the puff counter.
The power and up button runs you through 6 different coloured front screens you can have on your device.
It is charged via micro usb which is disappointing considering it’s a new device and I like to see usb C although with the device using an external battery I don’t reccomend using a charging cable unless it’s an emergency.
Although the screen is big and has alot on it I found sometimes it was abit dim but only In certain light and sunlight and let’s face it in this country we are hardly blessed with Caribbean sunshine very often so it shouldn’t be to much of a problem.
The Pod
Yet again we have another dark pod but it’s only slightly tinted so hasnt been to much of a problem seeing the juice level and holding 4.5ml it seems to last a good while with the coils provided and there wattage levels.
The pod is held in by a lip at the back and a clip on button on the front of the mod.
The button is easy to press meaning the pod is easily detached and attached and also gives abit of extra support and strength I’ve not once felt worried about the pod falling out or the button breaking.
The Fill port is a major problem for me, if like myself you struggle to grow nails… (or you bite them) then your probaly struggle to pull the silicone bung up it sits flush with the top of the pod and even with the little room underneath I’ve struggled to pop it open without using a key or something on me.
With the drip tip being non removable and the fill port being so close with some big shortfil bottles you have to angle them to fill it up and with only 1 entry point the air cant always escape meaning you have to move the device about so the juice fills evenly.
With this device there is no adjustable airflow which was abit of a disappointment especially as theres 2 airhole cut outs either side of the mod and with all the pod mods nowadays having the option of airflow I think its let this mod down by not including it.
During my time testing this device I have noticed quite alot of condensation or leaking from under the pod and coil so I would reccomend with most pod systems removing the pods over night and place it on abit of tissue or to make sure you clean it before using each time.

he Coils
This device comes with 2 coils included.
The #D15 single Clapton mesh .2ohm and #D14 A1 Conical Nexmesh Coil.
There is also a #D11, #D13 available for purchase separately and coming soon a Rebuildbale pod to suit everyone’s need. Well everyone except people who like the number #D12 as they havent got that coil.
I started with the D15 coil which is said to be rated 45-55W as always I tested this with Black Zeus juice leaving the coil to sit with the juice for 10 minutes or so whilst I made a cuppa. Starting the wattage low and slowly moving up i found my sweet spot to be on 50W although from the recommended wattages the flavour and vapour production was brilliant giving a nice balance of warmth and flavour, I have to admit I was very impressed with this coil and the flavour it produced. Running this device at 50W on a single 18650 be sure to take some spare batteries out with you.
I then popped the D14 conical Nexmesh coil.in rated between 35-40W and if I’m honest I didnt find the flavour as good as the D15 not really even close but i found just over 40W was the best flavour I got from this coil, with it being a lower wattage it feels abit more restricted but with there being no airflow options it could have possibly helped bring out more flavour if that option was there.
Although I didnt receive or havent used the other coils a little research shows me that they’re almost the same wattage ranges as the 2 included so there isnt to.much to choose from if those wattages dont suit your needs.
But this is where the coil compatibility game comes in to play with this pod being comparable with PNP and GTX coils it gives users a whole range of coils and wattages that you can use.
Pros and Niggles
Pros
– compatible with GTX and PNP coils
– great flavour from D15 coil
-18650 device
– good colour options
-strong Pod
Niggles
– No adjustable airflow
– non removable drip tip
– Dull screen
-another darkly tinted pod
– poor fill port
Conclusion
This is a strange one for me theres parts which I think are brilliant, but is there enough to make this my go to all day vape device, sadly for me I dont think there is, it will be a brilliant back up device and having the option of GTX or PNP coils means you will never have trouble finding coils if you run out of Wotofo ones. But that doesnt make up for the little niggles I have with this device.
For anyone interested you can get it here for just €18.58 when you sign in which is a great price.
