Vaporesso Luxe Review

The last of the Omni dual battery devices from Vaporesso.  Does the Luxe provide luxury vaping or does it simply overcompensate for its shiny exterior?

This was sent for the purposes of a written review by Health Cabin.

There isn’t much that has not been said already about Vaporesso.  They are a company that have continued to release high quality products over the past few years and are one of the mainstays in the industry.  Following on from the SKRR review, I wanted to bring the mod itself.  The flagship mod from Vaporesso in 2018, the device brings interesting features under the hood and a luxurious body, how well does it perform though?  Before we get into that, let’s jump into the details first.

About the Vaporesso Luxe

The Luxe is a dual 18650 powered device that powers up to 220w as standard and comes in a variety of different colours/designs..  The device has the curved body design with side fire button, large coloured screen and 3 touch control panels which act like buttons on the bottom of the device, with a USB port.

Operating the device is done through the fire button with 3 clicks to lock the touch buttons and 5 clicks to turn the device on/off.  There is vibration feedback on the panels to register control and also when the device is turning on/off.  The large colour screen comes displayed with wattage/ mode / ohms / puff count and battery indicators with a time setting also.  There is an added time and date screen-saver when not in use.  Going into the menu system is achieved by pressing the V button at the bottom 3 times to bring the detailed menu up.  It gives you the options of Variable wattage, Super player (low resistance coils .05 and under), Temperature control, Variable voltage, Bypass mode, Control Current and DIY (advanced power control) and settings.  Each option is selected with the menu V button rather than the fire button, which is used to instead take you back out the menu.

The mod comes with the Skrr tank, which comes compatible with standard Skrr coils, has 8 mil capacity and sits around 24mm.  For the purpose of this review, I want to focus on the mod rather than the tank, check out the Skrr Review HERE.

Colour Options

Vaporesso Luxe Pros

The first place to start with the Luxe is on the looks of the device and this device is stunning.  From the full colour screen that is nice and clear, to the overall shimmer of the glass style design, the mod looks that little bit more special compared to others on the market.  The simplistic design with the touch panel control means the whole device is sleek and elegant, and the screen provides a striking contrast to the overall look.  Using the device is nice and easy, with the lock functionality a fantastically thought out feature, allowing you to turn off the touch control whilst you vape to prevent any changes being made unexpectedly.  I will also say on this front that the lack of a vibration feedback from the buttons when locked is amazing also, as I find when mods do include that, it can be quite annoying.  The mod is extremely responsive with the brilliant Omni chip inside and the device feels quick to use without any lag when entering the menu system.  Another feature I loved with this was the way it fits into your hand really well, not overly big and buttons are comfortably positioned as well.

Going inside the device and the vast menu system options is another welcome and surprising feature to be honest.  The sheer amount of options there from super player (down to 0.05 ohm), CCW, TCR, Bypass etc, plenty of options for anyone who wants to use this in their own way.  The menu system is easy to navigate and the fire button to come back out again is very well thought of.

Vaporesso Luxe Cons

The first flaw with this device I found was the battery life, it is quite poor for a dual 18650 device.  I found myself getting less than a day out of the batteries, despite using some fairly new 30qs in there.  So for all the glitz and the glam, despite the excellent performance you will be changing batteries quicker than others on the market. The device will be a little bit of a fingerprint magnet for some, especially on the screen.  That didn’t affect the touch buttons but the glossy design attracts it none the less.  Other than that, there isn’t many other issues I have found with the mod, it performs really well with that Omni chip inside.

Overall

Overall, the Luxe is a fantastic device despite the shortcomings of the battery life.  The sheer amount of options, the responsiveness of it, well thought out features and a lovely design.  The Luxe brings out everything you could possible want from a mod.  If you like to use a device heavily then the battery life may be an issue, but for a device that gives you many more options than the standard dual mod does at this price range, you will be pushed to find a better mod.

The luxe lives up to its name and provides high quality vaping.  Combined with the brilliant Skrr tank, the kit is well worth picking up.

Overall- 8.5 /10
