Yumibar are a company that we’ve come across in the past but to be honest we’ve not tried any of their products before. They are primarily a disposable pod and vape pod manufacturer. Healthcabin kindly asked us if we would like to review the Yumi Wisebar closed pod system and we jumped at the chance to try it out.
Read on and see what we thought and get our honest opinion and views of the Yumi Wisebar pod. As a little spoiler; we liked it and I liked it a lot.
Overview
The Yumi Wisebar pod device is a non-adjustable fixed wattage draw activated Mouth to Lung (MTL) pod device incorporating an internal 290mAh rechargeable battery. A range of pre-filled flavored pods are available to buy and have to be purchased separately from the Wisebar battery/device itself.
It’s made out of Zinc Alloy and PCTG material, resembling the size and shape of a very small tube/pen vape device and yes it is VERY small. It’s about the same length as an 18650 battery or a 10ml e-liquid bottle but thinner.
The Yumi Wisebar body is very lightweight and very discrete with no controls or on/off button. The only interface being the Type-C charging port and a small blue LED that illuminates through an outer ring on the bottom of the device when you draw on the pod or the device is being charged.
Currently available in 6 different color finishes and 8 different pre-filled flavored pods with Yumibar saying there’s more to follow soon. These pods hold 2ml of e-liquid and come in strengths of 20mg or 50mg nicotine (2% or 5%). A 1.4 ohm non-replaceable mesh coil is integrated into the pod and when the e-liquid in the pod is used up, you replace the pod with a new one.
There is no adjustable airflow; instead it relies on one small pin hole on the base of the Yumi Wisebar body providing a nice smooth semi-restricted Mouth to Lung (MTL) draw.
Because of its simplicity, the Yumi Wisebar is aimed more at the beginner vaper, someone wishing to transition from smoking to vaping. Equally because of its size it makes for a perfect stealth vape for even an experienced vaper taking out for an evening under the radar.

When you purchase the Yumi Wisebar it doesn’t include any charging cable, no pod, no separate manual, it’s just the device itself. The different flavored pods that are available have to be purchased separately.
The Yumi Wisebar will require charging when the battery becomes depleted so a Type-C USB charging cable will be needed to charge the device. Any standard Type-C cable, that’s used in other pods/mods or mobile phones can be used.
On the reverse side of the inner cardboard package that houses the Yumi Wisebar are the printed specifications and battery indicator details.
The separately purchased pods come in a single cardboard box with 3 pre-filled flavored pods of your choice in a blister pack.
Yumi Wisebar Design and Appearance
Yumi Wisebar Body/Battery
The Yumi Wisebar is TINY, it’s constructed out of Zinc Alloy and is available in 6 different color finishes.
- Silver
- Grey
- Black
- Purple
- Lemon Green
- Orange
The color I received to test for this review was the Orange version which you can see throughout this review. It’s a semi-matt smooth finish so won’t show any fingerprint marks etc and even though its listed as Orange, it looks like a bright copper color.
It’s a pen style body with two flat indents running the length of the casing on the front and reverse faces providing finger and thumb placement. These flat indents are only 7mm wide but enough to ensure a good positive grip.
As we mentioned earlier, this body is tiny, measuring 63mm tall (excluding the pod) by 16.3mm diameter and weighing in at 15.5 grams. It’s very lightweight and very compact but does come across as being robust and well built.
Powered by an internal 290mAh battery and re-chargeable via the Type-C bottom located USB charging port specified as 5V/0.55A (550mA), charging time will take approximately 35 minutes. The battery I hear you say is small but I have to say it did give me a good 10 hours vaping time before it needed charging.
It’s draw activated only, there is no fire or on/off button, is a fixed wattage with a constant 3.6V output to the pod and has a single fixed airflow hole which provides the semi-restricted MTL draw. The wattage is not specified but working it out using the constant 3.6V output with the 1.4 ohm coil will produce approximately 9W output power.
The only visible display on the Yumi Wisebar is a blue colored LED that sits on the bottom of the device body. The base is flat and is semi-opaque with an outer transparent ring that illuminates when you draw on the pod and when the Yumi Wisebar is being charged.
This blue LED provides the following functions:
- Drawing on the pod – Blue LED illuminates
- Charging – Blue LED remains illuminated
- Full charge – Blue LED extinguishes
- Low battery – Blue LED flashes 10 times
- Charge cable removed – Blue LED flashes 3 times
- Overtime protection (10s) – Blue LED flashes 3 times
On the front facing side of the Yumi Wisebar are the branding “Yumi” towards the top of the body and “Wisebar” towards the bottom of the device body. Both brandings are pretty small and discrete and are screen printed in black lettering.
At the top of the Yumi Wisebar is a deep recessed opening where the pod locates. This recess is 18.5mm deep and houses two small circular magnets located either side of the two gold plated spring loaded contact pins that connect to the pod coil contacts. The auto draw sensor is positioned centrally to the two coil contact pins but offset to the casing. These magnets, spring loaded contacts pins and auto sensor are enclosed in a white silicone gasket to prevent any e-liquid seepage into the Wisebar body.
This pod recess is symmetrical so the pod will fit either way round. Strangely enough, when the pod is inserted or removed, there is no indication on the blue LED.
Yumi Wisebar Pods
he pre-filled flavored pods are NOT included when you buy the Yumi Wisebar, they have to be purchased separately. There are 8 different e-liquid flavors available in nicotine strengths of 20mg (2%) or 50mg (5%) and Yumibar state on their website that more flavors are to follow soon.
Even though I couldn’t find details of the type of nicotine used, I’m guessing they are Nic Salts and not Freebase nicotine because of the strengths involved.
Each pod is manufactured out of black PCTG material and has an e-liquid capacity of 2ml while incorporating an integrated 1.4 ohm mesh coil. The pod is black and unfortunately NOT transparent, meaning you can’t see the level of e-liquid left in the pod.
Remember these pods come pre-filled so are a closed pod system meaning when the e-liquid has been vaped, the pod is disposed of and a new one fitted. They come in packs of 3 replaceable pods of the flavor of your choice and are reasonably priced and do provide a good day’s constant vaping.
The pod measures 40.5mm tall and protrudes from the Wisebar body by 22mm when fitted. Diameter of the pod matches that of the Wisebar body at 16.3mm. The mouthpiece is fixed and measures 8mm in diameter with a 5mm diameter opening.
On the underside of the pod are two large gold plated coil contacts that locate against the spring loaded contact pins in the pod recess. These also serve as the magnetic contact of the two small circular magnets in the pod recess of the Yumi Wisebar.
Adjacent to these gold plated contacts are two smaller airflow port holes that locate with the single draw activator sensor in the Wisebar body. Because these two airflow ports are opposed to each other, the pod when fitted either way round will always line up to the draw sensor in the Wisebar body.
When the pod is fitted to the Yumi Wisebar body the blue LED doesn’t illuminate to indicate it’s been fitted. However, it’s a nice snug fit within the Wisebar body casing and is held securely in place by the two small magnets.
There is no branding on the pod and no coil resistance, the only wording is on the concealed part of the pod which details the flavor description of the e-liquid inside the pod.
During the time I’ve been using the Wisebar, each time I’ve removed the pod to replace with a new flavored pod, there were no signs of leaks or any condensation on the base of the pod or around the contact pins.
It’s worth mentioning that each replacement pod in the blister pack comes with a white silicone rubber cover to protect both the base of the pod and the mouthpiece. Make sure you remove these before attaching to the Wisebar body. If you wish, you can use the mouthpiece cover as a protector when not in use to stop any debris entering the mouthpiece.
Yumi Wisebar Functionality
It doesn’t get any simpler than this, there are no controls, no adjustments, not even a fire or on/off button. Simply fit the pre-filled pod and away you go; draw on the pod and vape.
The only visible indication is the illuminated blue LED on the base of the Yumi Wisebar that lights up when you draw on the device, lights up when the device is on charge or displays overtime protection:

Last function it does have is Pass-Through, meaning you can vape while it’s on charge which is always a handy feature.
Yumi Wisebar Performance
Straight out the packet, each of the flavored pods can be used right away. Simply remove the pod from the blister pack, take off the white silicone rubber protector covers from the base of the pod and mouthpiece, connect to the Yumi Wisebar and vape.
The auto draw was very responsive and worked every time. Even the slightest draw activated the Yumi Wisebar. The single bottom airflow pinhole produces a nice semi-restricted MTL vaping experience. Even though it’s not the tightest of draws I found the airflow to be just right for my vaping style.
Using the Yumi Wisebar exceeded my expectations. From such a small device, the flavor from each of the pods we tried was really good being clean and crisp with plenty of flavor profiles coming through. The level of vapor produced from a 2 second draw was very good as well.
I found the smoothness of the draw was really good, no gurgling, no spitting and was pretty quiet making it perfect for stealth type vaping.
Each of the flavored pods lasted well over a day’s vaping, in some cases I was able to get 2 day’s use out of each pod. Because each of the flavors we tried, which we’ve given a brief description in the next section, were very flavorsome, you only needed a short draw to feel satisfied.
Yumibar state on their website the pods are leak-proof and I can confirm they are.
Battery power I thought would be its downfall due to the small 290mAh internal battery but I WAS mistaken. With medium to heavy vaping, the battery lasted a good 10 hours before needing charging. This is very impressive from such a small capacity battery.
Yumi Wisebar Pod Flavors
Healthcabin were very kind enough to send us 4 different flavor pods to try. All the flavors we received were 20mg (2%) strength but we couldn’t find out if they were nicotine salts or freebase nicotine. Because they are 20mg strength, I’m assuming they would be nicotine salts. Also each flavor is available in 50mg (5%) strength if you require.
The 4 flavors we received were: Passion Fruit, Blue Razz Lemonade, Pink Lemonade and Watermelon. 4 additional flavors can be purchased, these being Grape, Fanta, Coffee Tobacco and Cola. Yumibar state that more flavors will be coming soon.
We’ve given a brief description of the 4 flavors we tried and what we thought.
Passion Fruit
A refreshing and very realistic Passion Fruit flavor. The strength of this flavor is spot on. Strong enough to pick out the flavor profile without being overpowering. There is a very slight coolness on the draw intake which just adds to the refreshing aftertaste.
I detected a hint of Mandarin and at times a very slight Peach taste but only on the intake after which the Passion Fruit became prominent. I would say there is a sweetness to the flavor because it lingers on your taste buds and if you lick your lips you again pick up the flavor.
Blue Razz Lemonade
Another really nice Berry Lemonade flavor. A very authentic Blueberry/Blue Raspberry fizzy Lemonade with that subtle hint of coolness and sweet aftertaste. A perfect flavor strength and definitely one that remains on your taste buds for quite a while afterwards.
While I really liked this flavor, this was the only one, out of the four I tried, that after a couple of hours vaping I fancied switching to one of the other flavors.
Pink Lemonade
A really lovely Pink Lemonade, definitely on par with some of the best I’ve tried. There is a very slight coolness on the draw intake with a hint of fizziness. Quite a strong flavor but not overpowering and leaves a subtle sweet fruity Raspberry Lemonade taste on your lips.
The aftertaste lingers on your taste buds for quite a while and is definitely a flavor I would be very happy vaping all day long.
Watermelon
I’m a lover of Watermelon and this one is no exception, it’s lovely. A prominent flavor having a very slight coolness on the intake with again that sweetness lingering on your lips and taste buds afterwards.
The Watermelon is very crisp and fresh while at times coming across as a little sweet. Definitely a flavor I would vape time and time again.
Flavor Summary
Of the 4 different flavors we sampled, each of them were very realistic and very enjoyable. Definitely plenty of flavor but not too overpowering. I would say a very small amount of sweetener and ice additive is present in the flavors but only just enough to add to the complexity of each flavor profile.
I would be more than happy vaping any of these all day long. I will be purchasing the 4 other flavors shortly and will update this review with my findings. Hopefully Yumibar add more flavors to the already 8 available because if the 4 we’ve tried are anything to go by they are likely to be a success.
Yumi Wisebar Battery Performance
The Yumi Wisebar is powered by an internal 290mAh battery. Charging time is very good, taking approximately 35 minutes to fully charge via the on board 550milli-amp (0.55A) Type-C USB charger/cable.
Considering the internal battery is quite a low capacity, on average I was achieving around 10 hours vaping from a fully charged battery. This time will vary depending on your vaping style i.e. duration and frequency of your draw.
I feel one drawback with the Wisebar is the lack of any battery level status indication. During use, the blue LED illuminates when you draw and only flashes 3 times when the battery is fully discharged. It would have been nice to have a 10% or 20% battery left indication as an advanced warning.
Saying this though, the Wisebar body is very small and very reasonably priced so I would suggest getting a spare back up or two…..that’s my excuse anyway! You can always rely on the pass-through function too in times of need.
When and How Do I Change The Yumi Wisebar Pod?
Because the Yumi Wisebar pod is NOT re-fillable, once the e-liquid inside the pod is finished you will have to replace with a new pre-filled pod. Unfortunately you can’t see the level of e-liquid in the pod because of its dark black casing so you won’t know how much is left.
I’m afraid you will only know when this happens by a loss of vapor/flavor followed by a cotton wool taste. It’s such a shame the pod wasn’t semi-opaque in color or a small clear window etched into the concealed side of the pod allowing you to keep a check on the e-liquid level.
One thing that did surprise me was once the flavor/vapor dropped off and I thought the pod was nearly empty, I was still able to vape for a little while longer. The flavor/vapor wasn’t as intense but it didn’t produce that nasty burnt taste that we’ve all come to know when vaping on an empty pod/tank.
Changing the pod is straight-forward, simply pull the pod away from the Wisebar body, discard the pod sensibly and replace with a new pod. As the pod is inserted into the pod recess on the Wisebar, the magnets in the recess will connect and hold the pod securely in place.
How Do I Charge The Yumi Wisebar?
As you draw on the Yumi Wisebar pod, if the blue LED flashes 10 times and no vape is produced, it’s time to re-charge the battery. Using a USB Type-C charging cable, plug the cable into the Type-C USB port on the bottom of the Wisebar body. Connect the other end into a suitable power source (typically 5V/1A).
When the Yumi Wisebar is placed on charge the blue LED will illuminate. This blue LED will remain illuminated until its completely charged at which point the blue LED will extinguish.
Charging time takes approximately 35 minutes from fully discharged to full charge. As you remove the charging cable the blue LED will flash 3 times.
Do note the Yumi Wisebar does have a ‘pass-through” function therefore you can vape while it’s being charged.
When the Yumi Wisebar was being charged, the casing does remain very cool to the touch which is impressive but I always advise to charge this, and any other device for that matter, on a non-flammable surface.
As always, NEVER leave your vape device unattended while on charge.

Yumi Wisebar Pod Kit Summary
The Yumi Wisebar is tiny but what it lacks in statue it most definitely makes up for it in terms of its performance. It’s well built, fits in even the smallest of pockets and produces great results in terms of flavor and vapor.
Its 290mAh internal battery capacity is pretty small but again does a decent job of powering the pod for a good 10 hours of vaping before requiring re-charging. Charging time is also very quick in around 35 minutes with the added advantage of having pass-through so you can vape while it’s being charged.
Draw activation was very good and even worked faultlessly with the lightest of draws. The pods definitely DON’T leak and each pre-filled 2ml pod on average gave a good 1.5-2 days of vaping.
Each of the 4 flavors we tried were very impressive and we will certainly be trying the remaining flavors at a later date to see what they are like.
Yumi Wisebar Pod Kit Price
I’ve called the heading “Kit Price” but in actual fact it doesn’t come as a kit. The Yumi Wisebar is bought as the battery/body only and you will have to purchase the pre-filled pods separately.
Despite this, the price of the Yumi Wisebar is very good ($7.99/£6.29) and a pack of 3 flavored pods are also very reasonably priced ($7.99/£6.29). Combining the cost of the Wisebar with a pack of 3 flavored pods make this a very good purchase.
